ROMA EuroGames 2019

The EuroGames are an LGBT sporting event in Europe, hosted by the European Gay and Lesbian Sport Federation. The 2019 EuroGames took place in the beautiful city of Rome from July 10-13.

Pink Ladies Hockey Club arrived in style sporting our new kits sponsored by The George Dublin and Applegreen Ireland. Pink Ladies fielded two teams (The Pinks and The Ladies) with subs and sideline supporters comprising of over thirty Pink Ladies representing the club and Ireland on the European stage.

It was an exciting tournament for the Pink Ladies with wins, draws, losses and some spectacular goal celebrations (including a Rock the Boat celebration and Bowling Strike celebration). Unfortunately we didn’t come away with any silverware but we did come away with great memories of dancing in the streets next to the Colosseum, pool parties, sunshine, riverdancing and so much more. Most importantly, it was a great opportunity to build on new and existing friendships because, as Dante wrote: “noi non potemo avere perfetta vita senza amici” – we cannot have a perfect life without friends.
